Fabinho talks about Roberto Firmino’s departure from Liverpool: “We will miss him”

On this sunday, Liverpool and Southampton face each other for the last round of the English Championship. The clash, which is scheduled for 12:30 pm (Brasília time), at St Mary’s Stadium, marks Roberto Firmino’s farewell to the English club. The striker’s partner since the 2018/19 season, defensive midfielder Fabinho regretted the Brazilian’s departure.

“Bobby (Firmino’s nickname in English football) will all be missed. You can see how special he is for the fans, for us players. For me personally, he was very important to me from the moment I arrived at the club, the way how he received me, he helped me adapt to the club, to the city”, he began in an interview this Friday.

“I didn’t expect this moment to come because to me Bobby means Liverpool, but unfortunately we have to say goodbye to him and I wish him and his family the best.”

In his farewell to Anfield, Firmino entered the second stage and, at the end of the match, scored to tie the match against Aston Villa, for the Premier League. “It was great that he scored in the last game at home”, summarized Fabinho.

Since the 2015/16 season in the team, the striker has become one of the main Brazilians in the club’s history. The 31-year-old player played 361 games, with 81 goals and 55 assists. On his resume, he boasts the achievements of Champions LeaguePremier League, English League Cup, FA Cup, Club World CupFA Super Cup and UEFA Super Cup.

In addition to Firmino, Naby Keita, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will also leave Liverpool this Sunday. “They are great players, they played at least five years for the club and the three of them won everything at the club”, concluded the Brazilian midfielder.
