PSG advances in negotiations to have Zidane as coach next season

Negotiations between Paris Saint Germain and coach Zinedine Zidane have advanced in recent days. The information is from the French newspaper The Parisian and was echoed by the Spanish daily As.

According to the publication, the club and the coach have kept in touch in recent weeks and held meetings in the French capital. The goal would be to have the commander from the 2022/23 season.

The possible departure of the former player to PSG is related to the instability of the current coach, Mauricio Pochettino. Even with the trio formed by Messi, Neymar and Mbappé, the team has not yet really engaged and has been suffering criticism. On Wednesday, it lost to the Manchester City, by 2 a 1, for the Champions League, in dominant display of the English.

In addition to performance, Pochettino is speculated on Manchester United. That’s because the team, which also sought out Zidane, fired Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and still is looking for a new technician.

Despite Zidane’s alleged interest in taking over at PSG, the coach is still weighing his options. He welcomes an eventual vacancy in the French national team, which should not keep Didier Deschamps after the Cup in Qatar. The former midfielder left the Real Madrid at the end of last season.
