Botafogo is preparing for the confrontation against Cesar Vallejo, in Peru. The match will be this Thursday, starting at 9 pm (Brasília time), for group A of Sul-Americana.
The alvinegros go to the field knowing that they can finish the fourth round of the Group Stage at the head of the bracket. For that, the team needs to beat Cesar Vallejo away from home, at Estadio Mansiche, in Trujillo, and reach eight points.
The lead will come if Botafogo wins by at least one goal difference, having scored two goals or more. A 1-0 win keeps LDU, from Ecuador, at the top of the table with eight points, according to goals scored.
The Ecuadorians stumbled when they tied with Magallanes, in Chile, this Tuesday, by 1 to 1. LDU opened the scoring in the 46th minute of the first half and the Chilean team scored the equalizing goal seven minutes later, still in the added time of initial stage.
The first place in the group advances directly to the round of 16 of the Sudamericana. The deputy leader will play a knockout match with one of the eight third-placed players in the Group Stage of liberators.
