Italian football legend Andrea Pirlo is free on the manager market. That’s because Karagumruk SK, from Turkey, announced this Wednesday the dismissal of the 44-year-old former player as coach.

“Since we will not be continuing with Mr. Andrea Pirlo and his staff next season, we have given permission for them to leave the club and plan for the future. We will also utilize the remaining time of the season as effectively as possible in order to win. every game and plan our own future,” the Turkish club wrote in a statement.

Pirlo leaves Karagumruk with three rounds remaining in the Turkish Championship, in which he occupies ninth place in the table, with 44 points. The Italian took over the team in August 2022 and played 34 games in charge, with 11 wins, 11 losses and 12 draws.

Pirlo’s departure from Karagumruk should contribute to the “chairs dancing” of coaches in Italian football. Naples, MilanRome and Juventus can change coaches at the end of the European season, according to Italian newspapers.

Between 2020 and 2021, Andrea Pirlo commanded Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus and won the Italian Cup. In that edition of the Italian Championship, the Old Lady finished in fourth place, with 78 points. Already in the Champions League, he fell in the round of 16.
