The head coach of CSKA Moscow Vladimir Fedotov summed up the results of the match of the 28th round of the Russian Premier League (RPL) against the capital’s Spartak. His words are quoted by Sport24.
The specialist drew attention to the fact that the refereeing team considered the episode with the removal of the Spartak striker Alexander Sobolev for an indecent gesture for too long. He was also surprised by the red card shown to CSKA defender Willian Roche. “I wonder how they will explain this situation,” said the coach.
The meeting ended with the score 2:1 in favor of Spartak. The first goal in the 37th minute was scored by army midfielder Jesus Medina. Three minutes later, striker Quincy Promes equalized. In the 65th minute, Sobolev was sent off for an obscene gesture, along with him, Rosha received a red card. Promes set the final score in the 90th minute.
Thus, after 28 matches, CSKA is in second place in the RPL standings, with 54 points. Spartak is in third place with 53 points. St. Petersburg “Zenith” became the champion ahead of schedule with 65 points.
In the next round, CSKA will play away with Krasnodar on May 27, and Spartak will host Paris Nizhny Novgorod a day later.
