CSKA graduate Skopinov said he ate food for the homeless when he played in the USA
A pupil of the Moscow CSKA Maxim Skopinov spoke about the difficult living conditions during performances in the United States. His words are quoted by Sport-Express.
The 18-year-old said he lived in an unheated home when he joined the Salt Lake City Bruins because the players had to pay their own utilities, but no one had the funds. “In ten-degree frost, we just survived: we slept, covered ourselves with jackets, made a fire in the backyard to somehow warm up,” Skopinov said, adding that team coach Mark Davis did not attach any importance to this.
The athlete also complained about food problems in the team. “Of course, we were supplied with food, as it should be with a full scholarship, but it was a food bank. Food for the homeless is the one that is written off in stores, ”said Skopinov. He noted the high level of the club and comfortable training conditions, but explained that due to disagreements with the coach and lack of prospects, he decided to leave the team.
Skopinov is a graduate of Dynamo and CSKA. In the summer of 2022, he moved to the United States, enrolled at SLCC in Salt Lake City and joined the football team.
