The first edition of The Jiujitsu League competition will take place this Saturday, November 27 at the Voltaire Paladines Polo Coliseum.

The matches will be from 09:00 to 18:00 in four spaces that will be installed in the current Voltaire Paladines Polo basketball court.

The organizers said that the objective of this contest is to turn Ecuador into the epicenter of the jiujitsu Brazilian from Latin America once The Jiujitsu League is institutionalized in the country and the region.

“The aspiration is to institutionalize The Jiujitsu League and that soon the most important annual events of this discipline will not only take place in the United States and Brazil, but also in the country,” said Fawel Abramowicz, president of the Guayas Jiujitsu Association.

To fulfill the task, Abramowicz indicated that “Nova Jiujitsu is being created, the organization that hosts The Jiujitsu League 01 tournaments.”

“This first tournament will give way to a circuit of events in 2022, in which we will have three events and a fourth event at the end of the year in which only the three best ranked in each category will participate, and the champion of that last fourth event will be awarded financially by the organization ”, explained the leader.

Delegations from the United States, Colombia, Germany, Costa Rica and Panama will attend this first edition of The Jiujitsu League.

“I dare say that 85% of the athletes are Ecuadorians and the rest are from different countries. The largest (foreign) delegation is from Peru ”, assured Abramowicz.

Along these lines, Carlos Ibáñez, organizer of the event, stressed that The Jiujitsu League “is a different attraction” and that currently “there are many people who like this type of sports.” “We see how the fans from Chito (Marlon Vera) have grown immensely, how people are becoming adept at the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship).
