Multi-champion by Manchester United, defender Phil Jones will leave the club at the end of his contract, which expires this season. The only remaining outfield player from the victorious “Ferguson Era” has announced his departure from Red Devils this Friday, aged 31.

Since then, the player has been a constant presence in the medical department, even made games for the under-21 category of the club and added a few matches for the main team. Phil Jones won the 2013 Premier League and was part of the winning squad Europa LeagueEnglish League Cup, FA Cup and two national Super Cups.
“I lived a dream at the biggest club in the world. I played for England in big tournaments. At United I won trophies, most notably the Premier League under Sir Alex in his last season,” he added.

Phil Jones’s last official appearance on the lawn for Manchester United was in the 3-0 victory against Brentford, in May 2022, for the English Championship. The team still had Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani and was coached by Ralf Rangnick.
With the departure of the Englishman at the end of this season, David De Gea will be the only remnant of the “Ferguson Era”. The Spanish goalkeeper was signed in 2011, coming from Atletico Madridand started under the crossbar in the 2013 Premier League title.
