Russian boxer Beterbiev will fight Briton Smith in Canada in early August
Russian boxer Artur Beterbiev will fight Briton Callum Smith in Canada. Details of the next fight were announced by promoter Bob Arum ProBox TV.
Arum said that the fight will take place in Quebec at a new arena, which was booked for early August, but the exact date has not yet been determined. He noted that contracts and other documentation are currently being prepared.
“Both fighters are very dangerous. Beterbiev hits like a horse, so a guy with equal strength can resist him, ”added the promoter.
On January 29, Beterbiev defeated British Anthony Yarde by technical knockout in the eighth round. He defended three world titles in the light heavyweight category: according to the World Boxing Council (WBC), the International Boxing Federation (IBF) and the World Boxing Organization (WBO).
In total, the 38-year-old Russian won 19 victories in his career and did not suffer a single defeat. The 33-year-old Smith has 30 wins and one defeat.
