English players James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Brazilian Roberto Firmino and Guinean Naby Keita will not remain at Liverpool next season. The four athletes will not have their contracts renewed by the English team and should leave the club by the middle of the year.
All athletes participated in Liverpool’s recent achievements, the most notable being the 2019 Champions League title. The Reds beat Tottenham at the Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid and lifted the cup again after 14 years. Jurgen Klopp’s men also won together an FA Cup, a Carabao Cup, the Club World Cup and the Premier League for the 2020 season, which took the team out of a 30-year fast without winning the English Championship.
According to the club, the quartet will receive “special recognition” this Saturday, in the game against Aston Villa at Anfield. The match is valid for the last round of the Premiere League. Liverpool is currently in 5th place, while Saturday’s opponent is in 8th place.
In a post on their social networks, the club confirmed the end of the player cycle at Anfield.
We can confirm Roberto Firmino, Naby Keita, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will leave the club upon the expiration of their contracts this summer.
Special acknowledgments will be paid to the quartet at Anfield, with further tributes to follow at the end of the season.
