Biathlete Wierer explained the refusal to act nude in Russia with self-doubt
Four-time biathlon world champion, Italian Dorothea Wierer spoke about the proposal of the Russian Playboy magazine to hold a candid photo shoot. Corriere della Sera reports her words.
“This is an old story, maybe ten years ago. It was a request from Russia: biathlon is popular there, ”the athlete recalled. She explained that she turned down the offer because she didn’t feel confident enough to pose nude.
In 2018, Wierer named Russian biathlon fans her craziest fans. The Italian said that fans from Russia call her to marry, despite the fact that she is already married – on May 30, 2015, Wierer legalized relations with the technical manager of the Committee of the Italian Winter Sports Federation Stefano Corradini.
Wierer, 33, is a four-time world champion and two-time winner of the Biathlon World Cup in the 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 seasons. She also has three Olympic bronze medals to her credit.
