According to the investigation, funding from the budget amounted to about one billion rubles a year. Some of this money was appropriated by the team’s management through various illegal schemes.
Tambov was disbanded following the results of the last RPL season. Due to debts, nine players remained in the team in February. Then the club received funds from the leadership of the league to continue performing and finished the season, finishing in last place in the championship.
