Barcelona president Laporta says the club will do everything possible to bring Messi back
Barcelona President Joan Laporta spoke about the possible return of Argentine forward Lionel Messi to the club. His words are reported by the Daily Mail.
“We will do everything we can to bring Leo Messi back to Barcelona,” Laporta said. He noted that work is already underway on the composition for the next year, and expressed the hope that it will be possible to strengthen the team.
Earlier it became known that Messi requires Barcelona to resolve the issue with his transfer before the end of the season. The club said they are ready to meet this requirement.
On May 3, L’Equipe reported that the PSG management was refusing to renew Messi’s contract. It is noted that the club reacted extremely negatively to the striker’s uncoordinated trip to Saudi Arabia.
Messi’s contract with the Parisian team runs until June 2023 with the option of a one-season extension. Prior to that, the striker played for Barcelona throughout his career, in which he won the Spanish championship ten times and won the Champions League four times.
