Guardiola complains City match postponed for Eurovision Song Contest

The technician of Manchester City, Pep Guardiola, complained about the holding of the Eurovision music festival, which takes place on Saturday in Liverpool, which forced his team to play on Sunday against Everton for the English Championship. This change reduced the club’s recovery time until they host Real Madrid on Wednesday, in the return of the semi-finals of the European Champions League.

Guardiola preferred that the “Citizens” take the field at Goodison Park on Saturday against Everton, as originally planned. But, for security reasons, the game was rescheduled for Sunday.

“In short, we can’t play on Saturday because of Eurovision or something like that in Liverpool. Sometimes there aren’t enough (security) forces to manage two important events”, ironized the coach.

“There’s not much to do because we have to play on Sunday. Thank you very much. I don’t understand, but I’m not going to fight for this anymore,” he added.

Manchester City, Premier League leaders, can win three titles this season, as they are still alive in the Champions League and the FA Cup.

Real Madrid faces Getafe for the Spanish Championship this Saturday and will have one more day of rest for the decisive duel on Wednesday. In the first leg, Real and City drew 1-1 at the Santiago Bernabéu.
