Russian judoka Arman Adamyan became world champion in the weight category up to 100 kilograms. The results are available on the website of the International Judo Federation (IJF).
The competition was held in Doha, Qatar. In the decisive match, the 26-year-old athlete was stronger than the two-time Olympic champion Czech Lukasz Krpalek. Bronze medals were won by Azerbaijani Zelim Kotsoev and Israeli Peter Palchik.
The return of Russian judokas to tournaments became known on April 29. The IJF said they oppose discrimination in sports. After checking biographical data and social networks, eight representatives of the Russian team were refused admission to the World Cup.
