He Tour of Italy 2023 will dispute his seventh stage he friday may 12 with a hard mountain stage, with a route of 218 kilometers between Capua and Gran Sasso D’Italia and an accumulated unevenness of 3900 meters.

It will be the second longest stage of the edition and one of the most complicated due to the three mountain passes that will require great physical effort from the riders. The first 90 kilometers will pass through fast roads through the towns of isernia and Sannitico Rionero. The route will begin to get complicated with the ascent to Roccaraso (2nd category) at kilometer 100 kilometers of the day, which will be followed by the long descent towards Sulmona and Popoli.

After Bussi sul Tirino begins the final climb of about 45 kilometers interspersed with counter-slopes and divided into two parts for the classification of the Mountain Grand Prix: the first up to Calascio (2nd category) and the second shortest and steepest to the finish line, in what will be a port of 1st categorywith an average slope of around 9%, with a maximum peak of 13%.
