He Tour of Italy 2023 will dispute his sixth stage he Thursday May 11 with a half-mountain day of 162 kilometers and 2,800 meters of accumulated elevation gainwhich will have Naples as a point of departure and arrival.
The stage is characterized by its numerous curves and ups and downs along the entire route, but with hardly any difficulties until reaching the climb to the port of Valico di Chiunzi (2nd category, 6.3%). From there the cyclists will descend to the Amalfi Coast until they reach Sorrento.
After that, they will visit several cities between ups and downs to reach Pico Sant’Angelo (3rd category). It will be the last hard section of the stage, so it could be a good place for someone to try to attack in search of stage victory.
From there, the route is downhill and, except for the occasional stretch with cobblestones, it will not involve any effort for the runners.
