Paret-Peintre wins the 4th stage of the Giro and Leknessund is the new leader
Euskaraz irakurri: Paret-Peintrek irabazi du Giroko 4. stage, eta Leknessund da sailkapeneko leader berria
The cyclist Aurélien Paret-Peintre (AG2R Citroën Team) won the fourth stage of the Giro d’Italia on Tuesday, between Venosa and Lago Laceno on 175 kilometers, in a one-on-one with his breakaway partner Andreas Leknessund (Team DSM), who will be the new leader of the ‘Corsa Rosa’ to the detriment of Remco Evenepoel (Soudal-Quick Step), who arrived with the bulk of the peloton.
The stage was marked by a escape of seven members, formed in the middle of the day, who came to enjoy almost 5 minutes of margin over the peloton. On steep terrain, with three 2nd category climbs, the favorites did not budge and gave room to escape, in a decision that could last as they did not push and the large group entered 2 minutes behind.
And it is that two of the men from that escapade were the strongest and those who disputed the stage, which was for the Frenchman Wall-Peintre –in his third professional victory and his most prestigious–. But Leknessund he was fighting more for something else, and he achieved it; the ‘pink jersey’. The Norwegian, 23 years old, and ‘Top 30’ in the last Tour de France, is the new leader and has the will to continue a few days in pink.
the fifth stage
This Wednesday is disputed the fifth stage of the Giro d’Italia between Atripalda and Salerno, 171 km long, a steep route, especially in the first half, suitable for a break, although the flat finish does not rule out a sprint resolution
