Defender Eduardo Bauermann is away from the squad of Santos after new complaints involving his name in Operation Penalty Maximum 2, by the Public Ministry of Goiás. The decision was confirmed by the São Paulo club itself in a statement released this Tuesday morning.
This Monday, Veja magazine released images of an alleged conversation between Bauermann and a “matchmaker” via messages. According to the vehicle, the player would have received 50 thousand reais to force and receive a yellow card in a Santos match.
The game in question took place on November 5, 2022, for the Brasileirão, when Peixe received Avaí in Vila Belmiro. However, Bauermann was not shown a yellow card and received a “charge” from the bookmakers.
The player then promised that he would be expelled in the next match, between Santos and Botafogo, at Nilton Santos, for the Brazilian Championship last year. Bauermann received a red card, but only after the end of the game and infuriated the participant of the “betting scheme”.
“Look at the f… the f… thing you did, bro. Why didn’t you take that p… in the first half. Why didn’t you give a f… an elbow. Why don’t you listen to me, bro. You f… me again, bro. But this time, you will solve it. You will pay me everything”, wrote the alleged “handler”.

The Maximum Penalty Operation, commanded by the Public Ministry of Goiás, had already investigated and accused Bauermann of forcing the cards during Santos matches. The player denied the alleged acts of manipulation and the alvinegra board believed in his version.

Santos Futebol Clube informs that the athlete Eduardo Bauermann has been informed that he is preventively away from training with the professional squad, starting this Tuesday (9), in view of the new developments disclosed in Operation Maximum Penalty 2, of the Public Ministry of Goiás.
The player will remain doing physical activities at CT Rei Pelé. The Club will wait for Justice to accept the complaint to define new actions, always with a view to preserving the institution.
Santos FC does not tolerate misconduct or ethics.
