Willian scores twice as Fulham thrash Leicester in Premier League

Opening the game day of this Monday’s holiday in England, Fulham received Leicester City at Craven Cottage and won by 5-3, for the 35th round of the Premier League. Willian, Carlos Vinícius and Tom Cairney scored the home team’s goals in the rout.

Ex-Chelsea, Arsenal e Corinthians, attacking midfielder William opened the scoring in the 10th minute. Taking a free kick on the side of the field, the Brazilian crossed the area, the ball passed through all of Leicester’s defenders and only stopped at the back of the net.

Last Friday, Willian spoke about his departure from Brazilian football: “I don’t want to go back to Brazil, ever again. I had that thought since before Corinthians. On the way back from the break, the English midfielder scored another goal and increased the score in the sixth minute. Leicester even scored a goal of honor in the 14th minute of the second half, at the feet of Harvey Barnes.

William scored another goal in the match in the 25th minute. The Brazilian dribbled the opponent’s marking, brought it to his right leg and risked a shot from outside the area. The finish was accurate in the corner of the goal and the goalkeeper had no chance of defense. At the end of the match, James Maddison and Harvey Barnes discounted and reduced the visitors’ damage.

With the result, Fulham reaches 48 points and consolidates itself in 10th place in the English Premier League, six points above Chelsea. Leicester City is in 16th place with 30 points and has the same score as Nottingham Forrest, which opens the Z-4.
