Rodrygo’s house was robbed at dawn in Spain

Police in Spain are investigating the robbery that took place early this Monday at the home of Brazilian striker Rodrygo, Real Madrid.

The assault took place at the player’s home in a town close to Madrid “during the early hours of the morning”, police sources said. A private security official alerted the police.

When the police arrived, they found “a door broken into and several rooms ransacked”, but they still do not know what the assailants may have taken or its value, added the police sources, without disclosing further details.

The theft took place hours after Rodrygo’s Copa del Rey title won with Real Madrid. The Brazilian striker scored twice in 2-1 win against Osasunathis Saturday, which guaranteed another cup for the merengue team.

Rodrygo thus joins a list of players who have also suffered robberies at home, such as his teammates Dani Carvajal and Karim Benzema, whose home was robbed last year on the day he was playing a match in the Spanish League against the Elche.

In October 2019, the Spanish Civil Guard and Europol announced the dismantling of a network of thieves whose main targets were Atlético and Real Madrid players.

The Spanish press then stated that among the victims of this organization were Benzema, the Brazilian Casemiro and the Ghanaian Thomas Partey, a former player of Atlético de Madrid.
