Vinícius Jr. has been receiving a lot of praise from the Spanish media during this new phase of his life. Officialized as a Real Madrid player in 2017, he took two seasons to adapt and took off for success.
Always treated as a great promise, the 21-year-old has become a key player in coach Carlos Ancelotti’s scheme. Vinicius has already made it clear that he intends to continue with Real Madrid and, later on, he wants to become an emblem of the club, as Cristiano Ronaldo did.
“Many players would pay to play here [no Real Madrid]. It’s the best club in the world. I’m lucky to be on the team for four years and I want to have a great career like Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos and Marcelo. I want to stay here for as long as they stayed,” he said, in an interview with the newspaper The spar.
The player hasn’t had all that prominence now since he arrived at the Santiago Bernabéu. Behind the scenes and the new command of Ancelotti, who joined the team in June this year, the strength and confidence of the 20 shirt came to light.
“I’ve already failed, but I never lower my head. I always want to keep fighting and help the team. In the locker room they always give me the strength I need. It wasn’t a single player, it wasn’t the coach alone, it was everyone. They encouraged me to do my best,” declared Vinícius.
“Not just Carlo Ancelotti [foi peça-chave]. It was Solari, Zidane, and now Carlo. With him I have more confidence, more minutes, more time to do things well. Ancelotti arrived and gave me the confidence I need”, he stated.
The athlete assumed that the biggest individual prize awarded to a football player is the Golden Ball and hopes to be awarded with it one day.
“All players dream of getting the Ballon d’Or one day. I continue to work, I have a lot of time to do many things, to give my best and to feel good about myself, which is the most important thing,” he said.
Vinícius Júnior fulfills his fourth season in the meringues’ main team and has a contract valid until June 2025.
