O Borussia Dortmund confirmed, this Tuesday, the contract renewal of the English striker Jamie Bynoe-Gittens. The 18-year-old, who scored his first goal in Bundesliga in the last week, he signed a new bond with the club until June 2025.
“It was always my goal to stay at Borussia after the coronavirus and some injuries at the beginning of my journey, which is just beginning. Now, I can’t wait to continue working hard to help the team in the months and years to come.”
revealed by Manchester CityBynoe-Gittens left the club still in the youth categories and signed with Borussia for free in 2020. It is a transfer similar to that of Jadon Sancho, who, however, was bought by the German team three years earlier.
Bynoe-Gittens is seen as one of the main promises of English football and accumulates matches for the youth teams. The boy, who can play at both ends, debuted for Dortmund’s professional team in the 2021/22 season and, in the current one, has already played two games.
Last Friday, the player played an important role in the 3-1 victory over Freiburg. Triggered in the second half, he scored his first goal as a professional and commanded the visitors’ turn.
With two wins in two games, Borussia Dortmund is runner-up in the German Championship and returns to the pitch on Saturday, at 10:30 am (GMT), when they host Werder Bremen.
