Goaltender Bobrovsky sets Florida’s record for consecutive NHL playoff wins
The Florida Panthers defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs in Game 2 of the second round of the National Hockey League (NHL) playoffs. This is reported by the correspondent of “Lenta.ru”.
The meeting was held in Toronto and ended with the score 3:2 in favor of the guests. 35 saves by Russian goalkeeper Sergei Bobrovsky helped Florida win. The goalkeeper became the first star of the match.
For Bobrovsky, this victory was the fifth in a row in the playoff series. In doing so, he set Florida’s record for the league’s playoff goaltending streak. Previously, the leader in this indicator was John Vanbiesbroek, who in 1996 had four unbeaten matches in a row.
The score in the series to four wins became 2-0 in favor of Florida. The third match will take place on May 8 at Sunrise.
Bobrovsky has been playing for Florida since 2019. The team has no victories in the Stanley Cup.
