RMC Sport: PSG coach Galtier wants Messi back after suspension
Paris Saint-Germain head coach Christophe Galtier has expressed his desire to bring striker Lionel Messi back into the squad after being suspended. The plans became known to RMC Sport.
According to the source, Galtier wants to assess the form of the 35-year-old footballer after the suspension and, if the striker is in order, release him on the field. At the same time, it is noted that Messi’s participation in matches for PSG will depend on the desire of the Argentinean himself.
On May 2, RMC Sport announced Messi’s suspension from PSG. Thus, the club wants to punish the striker for a trip to Saudi Arabia as a tourism ambassador for an Arab country. The athlete did not coordinate the departure with Galtier and team adviser Luis Campos.
Messi signed a contract with PSG in August 2021, it runs until June 2023 with the option of a one-season extension. Prior to that, the striker played for Barcelona throughout his career, in which he won the Spanish championship ten times and won the Champions League four times.
