President of the CSKA basketball club Andrey Vatutin gave new data on the condition of the team’s defender Alexei Shved, who was hospitalized after the attack. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
Vatutin said that the 34-year-old athlete is still in the hospital, but his condition is improving. “I just now talked with Alexei. He is on the mend, maybe not as fast as everyone would like, ”he stressed, adding that it’s too early to talk about the timing of discharge.
On May 3, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced the arrest of three suspects in the attack on Shved. A criminal case was initiated under Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Causing grievous bodily harm with the use of objects used as weapons”).
The attack on Shved became known on May 2. As a result of a fight at the entrance to a restaurant in the center of Moscow, the basketball player received a head injury. At the hospital, he was also diagnosed with retrograde amnesia, a fracture of the temporal bone, and an epidural hematoma.
