Palmeiras faces Barcelona-EQU, this Wednesday, at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), in Guayaquil, Ecuador, for the third round of Group C of the Copa Libertadores. This Tuesday, already on Ecuadorian soil, the players held a training session at the George Capwell stadium, owned by rival Emelec, who was Verdão’s opponent in the continental competition last year. On the occasion, the Brazilian club won by 3 to 1.
Scorer of Palmeiras’ third goal in the match, already in the second-half stoppage time, striker Breno Lopes recalled the move that led to his beautiful goal. The ball left the right side of the area and covered the Emelec goalkeeper before hitting the crossbar and going in.

“It was on the right side here (of the lawn). It was a challenge and I was happy there. I tried to cross, that happened, but thank God the ball went there and winning this match was very important in our fight for classification”, said Breno Lopes in statements to TV Palmeiras.
“Good memories and I hope that tomorrow (Wednesday) we can also play a great game and return home with the three points”, added the striker, who should start on the bench and be an option for the Portuguese coach Abel Ferreira.
