TMZ: Former world champion Wilder arrested in Los Angeles for illegal possession of weapons
Former world heavyweight champion, American boxer Deontay Wilder was arrested in Los Angeles. It is reported by TMZ.
According to the publication, the athlete was accused of illegal possession of weapons. It is specified that the police stopped Wilder’s car at night in Hollywood and inspected the car. During the search, the officers found marijuana and a pistol from the boxer.
On October 16, 2022, Wilder defeated Finn Robert Helenius. The American knocked out the opponent with a signature right hand three seconds before the end of the first round. Thus, he retained the status of a contender for the world title according to the World Boxing Council (WBC)
The win was Wilder’s first since returning to the ring following a hiatus that began in October 2021. In total, he has 43 wins, 42 of which were obtained by knockout, two losses and one draw.
