Verkauteren said that Spartak fans helped to appoint the coach of the Belgian national team
The sports director of the Belgian Football Association, Frank Vercauteren, spoke about the process of appointing Domenico Tedesco as head coach of the national team. It is reported by “Sport-Express”.
According to the functionary, the fans of the Moscow “Spartak” in a conversation with him gave a positive assessment to the specialist and played a big role in making the final decision. “These are not people from the structure of the club, as, for example, [бывший владелец клуба] Leonid Fedun. But they are very closely connected with the club,” said Verkauteren.
Tedesco was appointed head coach of Belgium on February 8 this year. The German worked at Spartak from 2019 to 2021, he helped the Moscow team become the silver medalist of the Russian Championship.
Verkauteren headed the Wings of the Soviets from 2014 to 2016. His best result was ninth place in the RPL.
