Sambo coach Mehman Khalilov beats a seven-year-old student to death in Azerbaijan
Judo and sambo coach Mehman Khalilov beat a seven-year-old student Farid Bakarov to death at the Sumgayit Sports School (Azerbaijan). It is reported by Qafqazinfo.az.
The source cites surveillance video showing Khalilov beating the young athlete, pulling his hair, kicking him, turning him upside down and shaking him. A seven-year-old child suffered a broken neck and was taken to a children’s hospital, where he died.
According to Caliber.Az, a criminal case was initiated against Khalilov under the article of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan “Intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm resulting in the death of the victim through negligence.” It is noted that the coach was arrested.
On April 5, the former fighter of the Absolute Fighting Championship (UFC), American Nate Diaz applied a chokehold to a passerby, after which the man fell to the ground. For doing so, the fighter can be punished with up to eight years in prison, a $2,000 fine, or both.
