The head of the International Boxing Association (IBA), Umar Kremlev, spoke about the conflict with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) due to the exclusion of boxing from the Olympics program. The Kremlin’s words are quoted by Match TV.

The functionary said that the organization created a working group to solve the problem and are in correspondence with representatives of the IOC about the current situation. “For now, this is a warning. There will be big decisions to come. There should be no sports officials who want to deprive someone of the flag or anthem, or exclude a sport, ”Kremlev added. He emphasized that the IBA will continue to defend its independence and fight for the holding of boxing competitions at the Olympic Games.

Previously, due to financial problems, difficulties in managing and organizing refereeing, the IOC suspended the IBA from qualifying for the Tokyo Games. Boxing competitions were also not included in the program of the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
