Former UFC fighter Nate Diaz turned himself in to police after street fight and was released on bail
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter Nate Diaz surrendered to police after a street fight. It is reported by ESPN.
The athlete reported to the New Orleans Police Department and was taken into custody on charges of second-degree battery. The UFC star was later released on bail.
On April 5, MMA Fighting reported that the New Orleans police had issued an arrest warrant for Diaz. He is charged with second-degree battery. The athlete applied a choke hold to a passerby, after which the person fell to the ground. For doing so, the fighter can be punished with up to eight years in prison, a $2,000 fine, or both.
In total, during his professional career, Diaz fought 34 fights, 21 of which ended in victory. In November 2022, he left the UFC, where he had competed since February 2007.
