Slovak tennis player Andrej Martin suspended for doping
Slovak tennis player Andrej Martin has been disqualified for doping. This was reported on the website of the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA).
The suspension will be in effect for 14 months. The athlete used the banned substance ostarine. He explained that doping entered the body by taking a sip of water from someone else’s bottle at the competition. Allegedly, Martin mixed up the bottles at a floorball tournament and his teammate added ostarine.
Martin is ranked 554th in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings. He did not win a single tournament under the auspices of the organization.
In May 2021, Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremska explained that doping entered the body. At the first Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) hearing, the athlete claimed that the banned substances were found in her due to sexual intercourse with her ex-boyfriend.
