In the fight against relegation, Leicester and Everton play and draw

This Monday, the Leicester City received Everton for the 34th round of the English Championship and drew 2-2. On the home side, Söyüncü and Vardy scored, while Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Alex Iwobi scored for the visitors.

With the result, Leicester leaves the relegation zone, occupies the 16th position, but has 30 points, the same score as Nottingham Forest, first team in the Z3. Everton, on the other hand, is still in the throes, is in 19th and has 29 points.

Leicester’s next commitment is against Fulham, away from home, next Monday, at 11 am (Brasília time). Everton now visit Brighton, also on Monday, at 13:30.

The game

The Everton team, despite not controlling possession, started threatening more and finishing more times on goal. Early on, goalkeeper Iversen already had to work and operated a miracle in the eighth minute. Shortly after, at 15, the score was finally opened with Dominic Calvert-Lewin taking a penalty for Everton.

Shortly after, however, in the 21st minute, the score was tied again after a rebound in the area and Söyüncü finished low. Leicester City then began to feel the good moment and reached the turnaround in the 33rd minute, with Vardy, after an error in the pass in the midfield of Everton. Until the break, both sides had good chances, but Iversen saved the home team while the crossbar and a missed penalty by Maddison helped the visitors.

In the final stage, just after 9 minutes, Alex Iwobi equalized the score once again and left the game even more open. The second half, then, was full of opportunities for both sides, but no more goals. Iversen made his name in the final stretch and the two clubs had to settle for a bad draw for both in the fight against sticking.
