During the Members’ Assembly that took place this Monday, May 1, Carlos Alfaro Moreno, the president of Barcelona SC, made a sharp and lapidary criticism of a club, which he did not mention, and which, according to his version, tried to take two players from their minor departments .

The yellow headline referred to the cases of young players Allen Obando and John Acurio standing out in training and talking about “unfair practice”

“Barcelona SC had just beaten Liga de Quito 4-1 in Pomasqui, with Acurio scoring all four goals and that’s our legacy as a club, but the next day the intergalactic champions showed up and offered the player’s family $150,000. It’s up to us to try and get a pass and go there to play. We must live together against this unfair practice,” complained the toreador president.

“Last year, Obando’s father came to us to ask for his pass, also because the intergalactic champions offered him money to get Allen’s pass for free and take his son to play there,” added Alfaro Moreno, in statements collected by the journalist Eduardo Erazo.

According to what was reported in the communicator, the Canarian president insisted on investigating the team’s actions.

“Then we congratulate them when they win and everything is fine, we are happy, but not all talent coaches are as they say, there are young people who offer their parents 30,000 dollars to take that talent to their club, and we can offer them transport, apartments and scholarships, they offer them money that changes their lives, the fight against these practices, which are UNLAWFUL, is very difficult, but we have to live against it”, he refuted.

Alfaro Moreno reminded that if there is interest in a football player and if he is federalized, a dialogue should be sought with the club that owns his rights.

“Let’s remember that if the player is an ally of the club, the other who wants to get it must first negotiate with the club that owns the pass and then do it with the player. And secondly, FIFA forbids clubs to employ minors, they have to wait until they are at least 18 years old, so where are these offers to families justified?, concluded the president of Barcelona. (D)
