Russian figure skater Valieva said she was in a lot of pain after the Olympics
Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva spoke about the impact of the 2022 Olympics on her life. Her words are quoted by Business Online.
Valieva said that she was very hurt in the first six months. “But time passes, and it heals. I agreed that this should be accepted as a fact, not to get hung up, to continue my path in figure skating, ”she said.
The figure skater also said that she did not know whether she would continue her career or not, but thanks to the support of the coaches, she found the strength to skate further. The athlete added that she was ready to compete at the 2026 Olympics if the Russians were allowed to attend.
At the 2022 Olympics, Valieva won gold in the team competition, but the Russian team was not awarded due to a doping scandal with her participation. In the sample of the skater from December 2021, traces of the banned drug trimetazidine were found. At the same time, the Court of Arbitration for Sport allowed her to participate in the individual tournament, where she took fourth place. At the moment, the case is ongoing.
