Seven Russian players were among the 200 most promising young football players in the world (under 20 years old) according to the International Center for Sports Research in Football (CIES Football Observatory). The rating is presented on the website of the organization.

The list includes Lokomotiv forward Sergey Pinyaev, Dynamo midfielder Arsen Zakharyan and Krylia Sovetov midfielder Alexander Kovalenko, Lokomotiv goalkeeper Daniil Khudyakov and CSKA goalkeeper Vladislav Torop, as well as defenders Viktor Melekhin and Andrey Langovich representing Rostov. . In addition, CIES singled out defender Robert Renan, who plays in the Russian Premier League (RPL) for Zenit.

The rating included the names of players from 75 leagues of the world. The players were chosen based on the number of minutes spent on the pitch over the past year, taking into account the level of tournaments and team results.
