The initiation of a criminal case against hockey players became known in early July. The athletes were charged under part 4 of article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Giving a bribe”). It was noted that law enforcement officers came to the players during the consideration of the case of former police officer Farit Samigullin, who helped the athletes of the Ufa club avoid the army and prepared military tickets for them.

On July 1, CSKA goalkeeper Ivan Fedotov was brought to the military enlistment office, the rights to which belonged to Salavat Yulaev from 2016 to 2019. The military prosecutor’s office suspected the hockey player of evading service. Later he was called up and sent to the training unit of the Russian Navy.
