Arteta says Arsenal’s clash with Manchester City won’t decide Premier League

On the eve of the dispute with the Manchester City for the leadership of the English Championship, the coach of the Arsenal, Mikel Arteta, eased the pressure on his players ahead of the decisive clash. The commander stated that, even in case of victory, the competition will still be open.

“If we win tomorrow, we still won’t have won the championship. It will probably change the percentage, but five games in this championship are still very complicated”, said the coach this Tuesday.

Former assistant to Guardiola in the Manchester team, Arteta is one of the main responsible for taking Arsenal to the top of the English. For him, the progress achieved this season and the fight for the title goes beyond what the club expected.

“We knew from the start that City and Liverpool were the teams to beat, what they’ve done over the last six to seven years deserves credit. We wanted to close the gap, now we’re head to head,” he said.

This Wednesday’s duel directly affects the top of the table. Arsenal are ahead, with 75 points, but City have two games in hand and can pass their rivals, as they have 70. The match will take place at the Etihad Stadium, in Manchester, at 4 pm (Brasília time).
