MMA Fighting: Police issue arrest warrant for former UFC fighter Nate Diaz after street fight
American mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Nate Diaz was threatened with jail because of a street fight. It is reported by MMA Fighting.
New Orleans police have issued an arrest warrant for the former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter. He is charged with second-degree battery. It is noted that for this the athlete can be punished by imprisonment for up to eight years, a fine of two thousand dollars, or both.
The incident took place on April 21 after a Misfits Boxing tournament. While on the street, the 38-year-old athlete grabbed an unfamiliar man, applied a choke hold and hit him with a knee on the head and stomach. After being hit, the victim lost consciousness and fell to the ground.
In total, during his professional career, Diaz fought 34 fights, 21 of which ended in victory. In November 2022, he left the UFC, where he had competed since February 2007.
