The Athletic Named Rangers Goaltender Igor Shesterkin as the Best Goaltender in the NHL Playoffs
The Athletic has compiled a ranking of the best goaltenders in the playoff series of the National Hockey League (NHL). It is available on the publication’s website.
Topped the rating of the Russian goalkeeper “New York Rangers” Igor Shesterkin. In four matches, the 27-year-old has saved 96 out of 102 shots on goal. Boston Bruins goaltender Linus Ulmark came in second, followed by Jake Ettinger of the Dallas Stars.
Three other Russians also made the top 10: Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Andrey Vasilevsky was in fifth place, Ilya Samsonov of the Toronto Maple Leafs was in ninth, and Ilya Sorokin of the New York Islanders was in tenth.
The playoff series kicked off in the NHL on April 18. In the first round matches are played by 16 teams (8 each in the Western and Eastern conferences).
