Former Lithuanian footballer Nerius Barasa said he likes the Russians
Former football player of the Lithuanian national team Nerius Baras spoke about the attitude towards the Russians. His words are quoted by Match TV.
“The Russian people are very sincere, they either accepted and hugged, or sent three letters. And not this, as in Europe – neither yours nor ours … ”the athlete said. He added that most of all in Russia he likes people, as they are not hypocritical.
Baras played for the Samara “Wings of the Soviets”, the Vladikavkaz “Alania” and the Togliatti “Lada”. After the end of his career, he began to play beach football and became the owner of the Russian Cup as part of the Samara team.
On February 10, Lithuanian Minister of Education, Science and Sports Jurgita Syugzhdinene announced the creation of a group of 35 countries opposing the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in the 2024 Olympics. Later, the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs opposed the return of Russian athletes to international tournaments.
