After being sidelined for a month with a thigh injury, striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic was preparing to return to the pitch for Milan last Sunday, which did not happen. During the warm-up of the match against Lecce, at Italian Championshipthe Swede felt muscle pain in his calf and was out of the game.
In addition to the thigh injury, the 41-year-old striker had undergone knee surgery to repair an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament, staying eight months out. In the final stretch of his career, this latest injury is yet another setback for Ibra, who has been plagued by physical problems in recent years.
Ibrahimovic will undergo tests to understand and determine the seriousness of his new injury. After feeling the problem in the calf, during the warm-up, the center forward limped off the lawn and was supported by a masseur.

Despite the Italian press already ending the season for the striker, Milan coach Stefano Pioli was more cautious when talking about the matter.
“He felt something in his calf and stopped warming up. I was thinking of putting him on to play, but he told me he wasn’t able to. I don’t know how serious the problem is, but he felt something”, stated Pioli.
In the current season, Ibra has only four games played and a goal scored. Since returning to the Italian club in 2020, the Swede has missed more than 70 games due to injury and has undergone two surgeries. In all there were at least 13 bruises.
Milan is fifth in the Italian league and is in contention for a place in the qualifying zone at Champions League. In the current edition of the Champions League, the team is preparing to face the rival International in the semifinal. In the next round of Serie A, Ibra’s team will face Roma, away from home.
