American boxer Shewmaker wanted to meet Putin and get Russian citizenship
American heavyweight boxer Sam Shewmaker spoke about his desire to obtain Russian citizenship. His words are quoted by Metaratings.
“I would be very happy to get dual citizenship and become a citizen of the United States and Russia,” the athlete shared, adding that he would like to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and noted that it would be amazing.
April 27 Shoemaker, nicknamed “Rural Hammer” will fight against Russian Dmitry Kudryashov. The fight will take place at the Pravda Old School Boxing tournament in Vladikavkaz. In total, the American has five victories and one defeat. Kudryashov has 25 wins with six defeats.
On April 3, another American boxer, Kevin Johnson, applied for Russian citizenship. The athlete said that he was ready to change his life, which is why he turns to Putin.
