The game
Even playing with a mixed team, Manchester City dominated the duel during the 90 minutes. However, the first goal of the game took a while to come out. In the 40th minute of the first stage, Bernardo Silva was brought down in the area and the referee awarded City a penalty. Mahrez went to the penalty spot and converted.
Sheffield seemed to take the hit towards the end of the first half and were unable to recover as the game progressed. In the second stage, Mahrez continued his show and his team’s dominance.
