The TOP DOG 20 anniversary fisticuffs tournament will be held in Moscow.
The event will take place on Friday, May 7th at the Vegas City Hall. The tournament will be the twentieth bare-knuckle competition and the thirtieth tournament under the auspices of TOP DOG. League founder Danil “Rugby player” Aleev said that in honor of the double anniversary, the organizers had prepared several surprises.
The first of them was the card of the Moscow tournament. So, two title fights will take place in one evening: TOP DOG welterweight champion Denis Pogodin will fight against Isa “Executioner” Begaev, and Kantemir Kalazhokov will meet with Alexei “Melnik” Melnikov, the fight will take place in lightweight. In addition, fans are expecting the return of Nikolai “Chibis” Chibisov, who previously announced his retirement after losing the title fight. He will fight against Isa “Tandovsky” Isaev. Their five-round showdown will headline the evening.
Aleev added that the second surprise will be the unique graphical support of the tournament. The founder of the league did not disclose the details of the design, but advised to see everything with your own eyes.
He also spoke about the changes that have taken place in the league since the first tournament: Aleev recalled that TOP DOG began with events “for their own” in the Moscow City parking lot. Now, Aleev noted, the tournament is being held at a large Moscow venue, and anyone can buy tickets for the event. In addition, the founder of the league pointed to the lack of a professional license at the beginning of the journey and emphasized that now fisticuffs are an official sport.
According to him, the roster of fighters has also changed. “If it all started as a playground for street fighters, now the vector has changed towards professionals. Of the guys from the street, only a few remained in the league. The main backbone is made up of masters of sports. There are even world champions, and I hope their number in our organization will only grow,” he concluded.
