This Saturday, Villarreal beat Inter Milan 4-2 in a friendly preparatory to the European season. The match was held at the Adriatico-Giovanni Cornacchia Stadium in Pescara, Italy.
The duel was hectic. The Spaniards took the lead in the 29th minute of the first half, with a goal by Alfonso Pedraza. The Italians soon responded and sought a tie at 36, with Lukaku.
From then on, however, Villarreal grew in the clash. The Yellow Submarine was back in front at 43, with Coquelin. At three minutes into the second half, Alfonso Pedraza returned to swing the nets to widen.
At a disadvantage, Inter went up to try to reduce the damage. And the strategy worked. At 21, D’Ambrosio scored. The reaction, however, stopped there. That’s because, at 35, Nicolas Jackson scored one more for the Spaniards and closed the account.
Inter Milan debut in the Italian Championship next Saturday, at 15:45 (GMT), away from home, against Lecce. Villarreal, in turn, face Real Valladolid, on the same day, but at 2 pm, for the first round of the Spanish Championship.
Also preparing for the Serie A competition, Milan played a friendly against Lanerossi Vicenza Virtus-ITA this Saturday. The current Italian champions even came out behind on the scoreboard, but won 6-1 at the Stadio Romeo Menti, in Vicenza.
Rolfini put the hosts in front, while Rafael Leão, Messias, Rebic (twice), Dalmonte (against) and Tomori scored the goals of the red and black team.
