Borussia Dortmund debuted in the Bundesliga on the right foot. This Saturday, for the first round of the tournament, the Aurinegros beat Bayer Leverkusen 1-0 at home.
The hosts opened the scoring in the 10th minute of the first half. Marco Reus took the rebound after a good save by Lukas Hradecky and only had the trouble of nudging towards the back of the goal.
In the final stage, the attacker almost scored one more. After a good individual move by Malen, Reus arrived with a first strike for a point-blank intervention by Lukas Hradecky. On the other side, visitors responded to 17. Patrik Schick was triggered in the area and deflected to the defense of Kobel.
In stoppage time, there was still time for Lukas Hradecky to be sent off after catching the ball with his hand outside the area. In the charge, Reus ended up isolating. The lost goal, however, was not missed, as the match ended moments later.
With the result, Borussia Dortmund joins Bayern Munich, Freiburg, Union Berlin, Borussia Monchengladbach and Mainz on three points.
