Russian tennis player Andrey Rublev reached the quarterfinals of the ATP Tour 500 series tournament, which takes place in Washington, USA. This is reported by the correspondent of “Lenta.ru”.
As part of the 1/8 finals, Rublev turned out to be stronger than the American tennis player Maxim Cressy. The match lasted one hour and 44 minutes. It ended with a victory with a score of 6:4, 7:6 (10:8) in favor of Rublev.
In the next stage, the 24-year-old Russian will meet the winner of the confrontation between Holger Rune from Denmark and Jeffrey-John Wolfe from the USA. The quarter-final will take place on 6 August. The final of the tournament in Washington will take place on August 8.
Rublev is ranked eighth in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings. The Russian occupied the highest position in September 2021 (fifth place).
Rublev is the winner of 14 ATP tournaments. 11 of them are in singles.
