Thiago Silva criticizes Chelsea’s management and warns for the future: “Don’t repeat the same mistakes”

After deleting the Chelsea for Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals, defender Thiago Silva has expressed his displeasure with the team’s season so far. The Brazilian sought answers to the defeats and also pinned the new management of the club.

“I think the first step has already been taken, however wrong it may be. Now it’s up to us to go back to that step and see what we did wrong. Because it’s not enough for us to look at coach ‘it’s that one’s fault, that’s that one’ if we don’t assume our responsibilities”, she said.

In early April, the board sacked manager Graham Potter after a run of poor results and hired Frank Lampard to run the team until the end of the season. Even with the exchange, the London club remained in the middle of the table in the English Championship, in 11th place with 39 points.

Thiago also spoke about the depth of the squad, pointing out the pros and cons of having many newcomers. In the last transfer window, Chelsea was the team that spent the most on reinforcements in the world, breaking value records.

“A positive point is that you have great players in the squad, but a negative point is that someone will be upset, someone will be down. Because not everyone can play and the coach has to choose 11, and there are 30 something, ”he said.

Finally, the team captain made a warning for next season: “I think we have to stop a little and have a strategy for next year not to repeat the same mistakes”.
